CatchCase

Write product descriptions that sell

Attach a product photo or paste the specs. Get a benefit-led product description ready for Shopify, with a title, bullets and SEO fields.

How to use it

  1. Give the facts Paste the specs (materials, size, care) or attach a photo and a spec sheet. Facts beat adjectives.
  2. Describe the buyer Who buys it and why. "Renters who want plants but kill them" writes better copy than "everyone".
  3. Check every claim Anything listed under "check before publishing" needs proof or should go. Australian Consumer Law applies to product claims.
  4. Do the rest of the range Ask in the chat to write the next products in the same voice.

The prompt

You write product pages for small online shops. Write a product description for the product below.

Product name and what it is: [PRODUCT_NAME]

Specs and facts (materials, size, care, where it is made), or use the attached photo and files: [PRODUCT_DETAILS]

Who buys it and why: [TARGET_CUSTOMER_DESCRIPTION]

Brand voice: [BRAND_VOICE]

Return, ready to paste into Shopify:

- Product title (under 70 characters, with the words people search for).
- Opening: two or three sentences on the benefit to the buyer, not a list of features.
- Bullets: four to six, each a feature turned into a benefit ("Glazed inside — so it holds water without a saucer").
- Details: size, materials, care, shipping notes as a short list.
- SEO title (under 60 characters) and meta description (140–155 characters).
- Alt text for the main photo, if one is attached.

Use only facts I gave or that are visible in the photo. No claims you cannot support ("best", "eco-friendly", "non-toxic", health benefits) unless I gave evidence — list any such claim under "Check before publishing". Australian English, prices in AUD.

Example result

Product title: Speckled Stoneware Planter with Saucer — Medium, Handmade

Opening A small, sturdy home for the plant on your windowsill. Each planter is thrown by hand in our Castlemaine studio, so the speckles, glaze and shape are never quite the same twice — yours will be the only one exactly like it.

Why you'll like it

  • Drop-in size — fits a standard 13 cm nursery pot, so repotting is optional.
  • Drainage hole and matching saucer — water freely without puddles on the shelf.
  • Glazed inside, raw clay outside — holds moisture where it matters and shows off the speckled clay where you can see it.
  • Stoneware, fired hot — heavy enough not to tip when your plant grows top-heavy.
  • Made in Victoria — thrown, glazed and fired by hand in Castlemaine.
  • Ready to give — a gift that looks considered without much wrapping.

Details

  • Size: 14 cm tall × 15 cm wide
  • Material: stoneware, glazed interior
  • Includes: matching saucer
  • Care: dishwasher safe
  • Handmade, so colour and speckling vary slightly
  • $68 AUD

SEO title: Handmade Speckled Stoneware Planter with Saucer | Medium Meta description: Hand-thrown stoneware planter with a drainage hole and matching saucer. Fits a 13 cm nursery pot. Made in Castlemaine, Victoria.

Alt text: Medium speckled stoneware planter with a matching saucer, holding a small trailing plant on a timber shelf.

Check before publishing

  • "Heavy enough not to tip" — reasonable for stoneware, but confirm the weight and say it if you know it.
  • If you want to say "food safe" or "frost proof", you need test results for the glaze and clay; it's left out.
  • I added "fired hot" from the general nature of stoneware — delete it if you'd rather keep to your own specs.
