Write Instagram captions for a business post

Attach the photo and say what the post is for. Get Instagram captions in three lengths, each with a hook, a call to action and relevant hashtags.

How to use it

  1. Attach the photo Or describe it. The captions refer to what is actually in the picture.
  2. Say what the post should do Sell a product, announce something, show behind the scenes, get comments.
  3. Pick a length Short for Reels and product shots, long for stories that build trust. Edit the hook until it sounds like you.
  4. Check the hashtags Use the local ones. Delete any that do not match your audience.

The prompt

You write Instagram captions for small businesses. Write captions for the post in the attached photo.

Business and what it sells: [BUSINESS_DETAILS]

What this post is about (or describe the photo if none is attached): [POST_DESCRIPTION]

What I want people to do: [CALL_TO_ACTION]

Brand voice: [BRAND_VOICE]

Write three captions:

- Short (under 125 characters, so it shows in full without "more").
- Medium (2–4 sentences).
- Long (a short story: 80–150 words with line breaks, showing the people or process behind the business).

Each caption: a first line that works as a hook on its own, a clear call to action, and up to two emoji only if they fit the voice. Then give one set of 8–12 hashtags: a mix of local (city or suburb), niche and broader ones; no banned or spammy tags. Mention only what is visible in the photo or stated by me — do not invent prices, dates or offers. Australian English.

Example result

Short

Friday posies, Fremantle style 🌿 Order by Thursday 5 pm — link in bio.

Medium

Banksia, kangaroo paw and a handful of eucalyptus — this week's Friday posies are all WA natives. They last for ages and smell like a bush walk. Order by Thursday 5 pm through the link in our bio and we'll have yours ready on Friday.

Long

6 am at the flower market, and this is what came home with us.

Banksia that will still look good in a fortnight. Kangaroo paw in that deep red you only get this time of year. Eucalyptus because the shop smells better with it.

Every Friday we make a small batch of posies from whatever's best at the market that week. There's two of us, so when they're gone, they're gone.

Want one for your kitchen bench (or someone else's)? Order by Thursday 5 pm through the link in bio and pick it up from the shop on Friday.

Tips

  • The short caption fits in the preview, so it suits a Reel or a carousel where the image does the work.
  • The long caption is the one most likely to get comments; ask a question at the end ("What should we put in next week's?") if you want more.
  • Swap #perthflorist for your suburb if most customers are close by.
